"From Vernon, B.C comes “alternative, hard-edged post-rock/ pop” band Landing On The Sun who released their EP Paralysis Particle in November. This five track EP is filled with eerie tunes, accompanied by female vocals and a sultry spin.
Kicking off the album is “Monstrous” – an eclectic tune, beginning spoken lyrics about society and branching out into a melodic chant of “monstrous”, all to a modern techno beat with hints of guitar riffs. Interesting in execution, it is a tune that is sure to have listeners wondering what else Landing On The Sun has to offer.
“Vandra” is a sultry tune, accompanied by the same melodic vocals, while sounding more rock and roll. The lyrics are intense and loaded, giving off a vibe of autumnal spookiness.
“Hold Me on Fire”, the third track off of Paralysis Particle is a tune that plays more into the instrumental aspect than vocals – with classic guitar riffs, and a steady drum track. Again, feeling very autumnal – this track would be perfect for any Halloween-y occasion.
Overall, Landing On The Sun gives listeners an EP full of autumnal vibes with a spin – vocally, eclectic and stylistically intriguing."

"The Indie Song of the Day comes from Canadian trio Landing on the Sun. The band, from British Columbia rocks out on their new 5-song EP, Paralysis Particle and our favorite off the EP is their single "Monstrous."
The band made their own video for the song and it serves up Quinn Vienneau's seductive vocals wrapped around rock riffs and rhythms evoking some great hard-edged pop from the 80's and 90's. Quinn was actually hired by the band to shoot the cover photos for the band's last release and the relationship grew to her taking over the vocal reigns for what used to be an instrumental project.

"Landing on the Sun’s Paralysis Particle evokes sound track sounds of noir films of the early ’80s
Vernon-based electronic rock band Landing on the Sun’s second recording, Paralysis Particle, is heavy on the artistic edge of electro music, evoking sound track sounds of noir films of the early ’80s.
The new addition of vocalist, Quinn Vienneau, brings an art school aesthetic to the group’s vibe. Her vocal posture is reminiscent of a Nico-esque Velvet Underground feel of detachment. It’s beguiling and when it syncs with Landing on the Sun’s electronic thrum on tracks like Monstrous, it recalls Emily Haines’ work with Metric.
It is an edgy sound, one that suggests a Blade Runner sci-fi context. Shall we say futuristic even if the future is here? That’s all right, though. With the synth and bass-driven punch and the restless guitar work, there are spooky sounds aplenty.
Eric Hutton (bass, keyboards, drums) and Billy Haner (guitar) get down with the flip side of ’80s guitar/keyboard textures that recall groups like Bauhaus. They experiment freely and take that spirit and hone it into tracks that pulsate darkly (Hold Me on Fire, It’s Like I Told You).
Paralysis Particle is a dark record and one that suggests a time travel to the underground chic nightclubs of the early ‘80s or an alternative soundtrack to the David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve movie, The Hunger.
The record has some heavily committed vibe."

"As much as I respect artists and their right to express themselves through any medium they desire, the sad truth is that sometimes, their voices just aren’t very pleasant to the ear. Billy Haner and Eric Hutton of Landing on the Sun are wise enough to know that vocals aren’t everything. The two Vernon, BC-based musicians have a plethora of experience under their belts, coming together for this full-length project of instrumental rock n’ roll tracks that hold tight to the listener, even without lyrics."

The album is propulsive background music laden with driving riffs, conversational note passages and a committed noir-ish direction, which gives the songs a soundtrack soul.
